Klaipèda Castle Tower

The reconstruction of the medieval tower of Klaipėda Castle is a unique project where historical heritage and modern technology come together to improve the accessibility of the building.

During the rehabilitation process, it was decided to preserve the original castle foundations, which remain visible beneath glass floors. This particular feature conditioned the design of the vertical mobility solution, as the lift shaft had to be suspended above the archaeological remains without interfering with them.

To address this challenge, an Orona Smart Plus lift with a 700 kg capacity and 7 stops was installed, featuring glass walls and doors that ensure a light visual integration respectful of the historic environment.

The result combines advanced engineering, respect for heritage and an elegant architectural solution, offering an attractive visual experience for visitors while guaranteeing accessibility within the building.
