Orona, Europe’s fifth-largest group in vertical mobility solutions, held its Ordinary General Assembly today at the corporate headquarters of Orona Ideo, where the accounts corresponding to the 2025 financial year were approved and the main strategic lines that will shape the future of the cooperative in the coming years were shared.

The company, headquartered in Hernani, achieved a turnover of €1.195 million in 2025 and recorded growth of more than 7% compared to the previous year. This progress comes amid a highly uncertain international context, marked by geopolitical tensions, trade disputes, and the slowdown of several key European economies.

In this demanding environment, Orona also succeeded in improving its profitability, with EBITDA reaching €191 million, consolidating a positive trend over recent years. The cooperative maintained its investment commitment, allocating €58 million mainly to innovation, new technologies and R&D, as well as company acquisitions, with the aim of strengthening its competitive positioning within the vertical mobility sector.

The group’s workforce now stands at 6,997 people, reflecting the continued growth of its socio-business project and the central role people play in Orona’s cooperative model.

During the General Assembly, the company shared the main challenges it currently faces, highlighting the importance of continuing to promote strategic projects supported by broad involvement from its teams. This collective effort is key to strengthening the socio-business project and consolidating the company’s position as a benchmark within the sector in Europe.

Industrial development and local employment generation

Throughout 2025, Orona strengthened its commitment to industrial development and local employment generation through a series of strategic initiatives aimed at expanding and modernising its production capabilities. In this context, the company announced the acquisition of a strategic site in Estubegi (Hernani), as well as the expansion and modernisation of its industrial facilities in Jundiz (Vitoria-Gasteiz). The total investment amounts to €70 million and will optimise the global management of production capacities, ensure competitive self-supply capabilities, and consolidate Orona’s role as a benchmark in material supply within the global lift industry, while progressively adapting its capabilities to current and future market demands.

Orona Foundation and our commitment to sustainability

For more than 18 years, Orona has been part of the United Nations Global Compact. This membership reflects a business vision in which growth and innovation go hand in hand with social and environmental responsibility.

In line with this approach, the cooperative will offset the carbon footprint generated by the celebration of its General Assembly through the Gipuzkoa Voluntary Carbon Fund, promoted by Naturklima and the Sustainability Department of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa.

In addition, through Orona Foundation, the company will continue supporting projects linked to biodiversity and the promotion of sustainable practices within the local environment, reinforcing its commitment to actively contributing to social and environmental development.
